Inundatie te Walcheren. De Baarsjesstraat gezien van de Langevieleweg te Middelburg. The Allies orderd the island of Walcheren in Holland flooded for strategic reasons. An area of approximately 62 square miles was inundated by sea water when the island's dyke was bombed. The water destroyed 3000 houses. But the Dutch reclaimed the island from the sea and with the help of ECA counterpart funds, they are repairing the damaged houses and will soon build more.
