'21 August 1945. 'Just pure accidents' is rueful comment. When the Canadian hospital ship Lady Nelson docked at Halifax Tuesday night, she carried almost 450 wounded Canadian service personnel to their homes in Canada. Among them where these two Saskatchewan men, Spr. J.A. Kranchi of Leon Lake, and right, Gnr W.I. King of Wood Mountain. The pair ruefully admit their hursts 'were just one of those things'. Spr. Kranchi was struck on the head by a piece of hanging metal while riding in a truck in Germany. Gnr. King, after over four years service with the field artillery, was struck and injured by a truck in Holland, just a bare week after VE-Day.'
