The Yanks in the ETO. Sometimes there were short breaks, like mail from home. Jimmy's cutting a new tooth, my wife wrote, and Mary is having her birthday party this Monday. I made her an organdy dress - pink, with blue trimming. The way I figured it, this was what the war was all about. For the Jimmies and Marys - all over. And their birthday parties.
