Icertainly remember the day 1000 of us heavies in a 300-mile-long air armada made a 45-minute attack on Berlin. We dropped about 2500 tons of incendiaries and high explosives. We had 900 Mustangs and Thunderbolts. The flak was thick as pea soup. We lost 35 bombers and five fighters.
