Famous Frenchmen found in Castle prison. Overcoming opposition fron the German guards at Itter Castle in the Tyrolean Alps, men of the 103 rd Infantry Division of the Seventh U.S. Army, found a number of famous French statesmen and generals who had been hold hostages by the Germans for more than two years. Among them were former Prime Ministers Paul Reynaud and Edouard Daladier, General Maxim Weygand, former Commander-in-Chief of the French Army; Madam Weygand and General Maurice Gamelin, former Chief of Staff of the French Army. Here General Gamolin talks at Innsbruck, Austria, with Major General Anthony B. McAuliffe, Commanding General of the 103rd Division. General McAuliffe was in command of the besieged garrison at Bastogno.
