U.S. Equipment clear ruins of Isigny in France. A U.S. truck, power shovel and bulldozer cooperate in clearing the rubble from the town of Isigny of France, which the Germans were forced to abandon on June 10, 1944, under overwhelming Allied pressure. Allied reconstruction of liberated areas of France is in full swing. Isigny is 30 miles (48 kilometers) southeast of Cherbourg, liberated by the Allies on June 26. Cherbourgh's harbour is being rebuilt to help supply Allied armies driving the Germans to their doom.
