French boys wins race in Canoe made from German airplane tank. Mademoiselle Liliane Prince of Reims presents a bouquet to Fernand Kuckenbuck, winner of a 150 meter boat race on the Aisne-Marne canal at Reims, Augustus 7, 1945, in an regatta for French children conducted by U.s. troops on the Assembly Area Command. The canoes used in the boating festival were made from German airplane tanks by American soldiers awaiting redeplyment, who presented them to the children of Reims.
