Stockpile. French troops train with U.S. equipment. Soldiers of the French Army using U.S. equipment, await the command to quit the deck of a transport for landing boats during amphibious maneuvres on the North African coast. Commanded by General Henri Honore Giraud, Commander in Chief of the French forces, these troops, anxious to liberate their homeland from German oppressors, have been equipped by the U.S. Government with thousands of tons of American tanks, artillery, machine guns and other modern weapons. Half of the French Army of 300,000 men in North Africa are veterans of the 1939-40 fighting in France.
