U.S. Army Air Forces exhibit opens in Paris. Lt.Gen. John K. Cannon (standing), Commander U.S. Strategic Air Forces, dedicates the U.S. Army Air Forces Exposition in Paris to the men and women of the French underground who saved the lives of 2,500 American flyers during the war in Europe. Attending the formal opening ceremonies July 31, 1945, are front left to right: U.S. Ambassador to France Jefferson Caffery; Georges Bidault, French Minister of Foreign Affairs; General Cannon; Commandant A.C.
