Prelude to D-Day.
Prelude to D-Day. American soldiers and British civilians talk things over during the evacuation of a South Coast English village. The inhabitants, many of whose families has lived in the village for generations, are moving out in order to clear a practice invasion ground for U.S. soldiers, who were training for D-Day when this picture was taken. Shown in the picture are, left to right: Corporal Edward LeBlanc of Novelty, Ohio, C.W. Michelmore, C.H. Steer, Constable William R. Betts, Private Frate of Cleveland, Ohio, a U.S. Army motorcycle rider, and W.H. Blanck.
