U.S. Students learn flying on the ground. Student airplane pilots at the Sheil School in the U.S. midwestern city of Chicago do their pre-flight work in 'Penguin' trainers. Using a ground and sky screen as a guide, they can simulate hanks, turns, spins, climbs and stalls while on the ground. A projection of the silhouette of the plane on the screens shows the student the way he is flying. The 'Penguin' trainer gives students the sensation of flying.
