THE YANKS SHOVE OFF AGAIN. A silver C-54 Skymaster of the U.S. Army Air Forces Air Transport Command wings past the 984-foot Eiffel Tower in Paris, France. One hundred and fifty planes of this type are being used by ATC to deploy U.S. troops from Continental Europe and the British Isles to the United States. ATC was to fly 20,000 soldiers home during July, 1945, and 30,000 monthly thereafter in addition to the wounded and sick. More than 5,000 patients were evacuated June, 1945.
