Germans claim 13 ships in convoy sunk.
13 februari 1941
Germans claim 13 ships in convoy sunk. This is a typical view of a British convoy, and shows the ship moving through a sea lane under protection of the British navy. A convoy, probably appearing much the same as this, was attacked by the Germans in the Atlantic yesterday and the Nazis claim that 13 Brtish steamers were sunk, making the raid 'probably the most successfull attack on a convoy in naval history', according to the Germans. The Nazis used warships aided by planes in the attack. Several large, trans-Atlantic liners were claimed to have been among those sunk.
