U.S. launches world's largest battleship. The stem and forepeak of the new 50,000 ton U.S.S. Wisconsin, the largest and most powerful battleship in the world, tower above spectators jus before the big warship slid down the ways of a U.S. East Coast Navy yard. The vessel was christened by Mrs. Walter S. Goodland, wife of the governor of the midwest state for which the ship was named. The Wisconsin will mount nine 16-inch guis and attain a speed of 33 knots. One of het 16 inch gun turrets weight as much as a destroyer.
