U.S. escort carrier task unit wins presidential citation in U-boat war. Card, a U.S. Navy escort aircraft carrier whose Task Unit recently won a Presidential Unit Citation. The attack occured during fighting in the North Atlantic in which the Task Unit won its citation and was credited with sinking more enemy submarines than any other combination in naval history. The Unit consisted of the escort carrier Card, its two aircraft squadrons and three accompanying destroyers.
