Polish airmen receives U.S. decoration. Captain Marian Skubala, a 28-years old Polish airman, receives the U.S. Army's soldier's Model from Brigadier General Samuel E. Anderson, commanding General of the Ninth U.S. Air Force Bomber Command, at an outdoor ceremony in Edingburgh, Scotland. Captain Skubala rescued the crew os a crashed Marauder bomber in which he flow as navigator on a mission over Holland. Thrown clear of his bomber after a dangerous crash landing, Captain Skubala, although injured recentered the plane and pulled out other members of the crew who were trapped in the wreckage. Captain Skubala is now attached to the Ninth U.S. Air Force as liaison officer.
