Italian refugees aided by allies As Allied troops battle northward in Italy, aconstant stream of refugees pours southward into the liberated portion of their homeland. There they are recieved in Allied Military Govornment camps, which have already aided more than 150000 homeless Italiens. Refygees from embattled Northern Italy of sections of the country still under the Nazi occupationremain temperarilly in the camps while the rest are returned to their homes. By March, 1945, approximately a year and a half afterthe allies lande in Italy proper , about twothirds of the country had been liberated from the nazis.
