Lehman in Germany. Major General John Shirley Wood (left), Commanding General of the Fourth U.S. Armored Division greets Herbert H. Lehman, head of the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration, during Mr. Lehman's tour through liberated Europe late in 1944. The meeting took place on a road in Germany where General Wood's troops were thrusting further into the Reich.
