Fascisme

Fascisme is een autoritaire, nationalistische, antidemocratisch en autoritaire ideologie. Het fascisme is anticommunistisch, antiliberaal, antiparlementair en anti-intellectueel. Het systeem, waarin één partij of persoon alle macht heeft, is totalitair, verheerlijkt geweld, en streeft naar sociale eenheid en de opheffing van bestaande klassen- en belangentegenstellingen. Het is een politiek stelsel dat onder meer werd ingesteld onder leiding van Mussolini in Italië van 1922 tot 1943. Ook het nationaal-socialistische bewind van Adolf Hitler van 1933 tot 1945 wordt soms fascistisch genoemd ; deze vorm van fascisme streefde, naast sociale eenheid, vooral naar een etnisch homogene samenleving.
