French General honored by Americans. Brigadier General C.O. Thrasher (left), U.S. Army Commander of the Oise Intermediate Section, pins the Legion of Merit medal on General de Division Marie Henry Pierre Preaud, Commander of the Second Military Region of France, in a ceremony at Reims, France, Aug. 4. 1945. General Preaud was honoured for distinguished service in supporting U.S. Forces during the German break through from the Ardennes, General Thrasher commanded the Meuse River Line, where the French troops assisted in defense.
