Ernst Paul Weise collection
Ernst Paul Weise (1880-1981) was a German graphic designer, reknowned as the designer of the iconic symbol 'A' which became the universal sign for Apotheken throughout Germany and for which he won a prize. Shortly thereafter in 1936 he was excluded from the Reichskammer der bildenden Künste on the grounds of his wife, Eva Stern's, Jewish heritage. This affected his job prospects for the remainder of the Third Reich. After the war he resumed his work as a commercial graphic designer. Open
