Bergmann family collection
The Bergmann family were of Polish Jewish origin who settled in Germany. The donor's grandparents were expelled to Zbasyn by the Nazis and thereafter they went to Stanislawow and ultimately the Warsaw Ghetto where they are thought to have perished. They had three children including the mother of the donor and her sister, Jola and Herta Bergmann, who came to Great Britain on domestic visas and a son who fled to Palestine which he made his home.
