Jewish and gay, he outsmarted the Nazis at every turn. Gad Beck (1923-2012), who resisted the Nazis inside Germany during World War II and saved several dozen lives, was an Israeli-German educator, author, activist, resistance member, and survivor of the Holocaust. He tarted out as a gay Jewish boy and ended up leading the most succesful resistance cell in Nazi Berlin -- and he survived the War.
