The Daryl Ratzlaff letters consists of two two letters written by Sergeant Daryl Ratzlaff from Linz, Austria to Mrs. Lysle G. Danger in Moscow, Iowa regarding his participation in the liberation of Mauthausen concentration camp and his recent visit to liberated Paris, France.

Consists of one letter, four double-sided pages, written by Clayton Lee Shedivetz, a member of the United States Army, on 14 June 1945. In the letter, Mr. Shedivetz describes taking a tour, with a former inmate guiding him, of the Buchenwald concentration camp; the history of the camp, and what he witnessed there. He urges his wife to keep the letter because he felt the visit was very important.

The Peter Piper letter contains a handwritten letter, dated April 8, 1945, written by Peter Piper, a member of the Fourth Armored Division of the United States Army, and sent to Mary Alice Boyd in Madison, Wisconsin. In the letter, Piper describes capturing a liquor storehouse and distributing the contents to his friends, and the concentration camp he toured [likely Ohrdruf] and commented on the suicide ...

The letter was written to Julio Herman by a friend describing the sad situation of his parents in Vienna, Austria, in 1943.

Consists of one letter, written by Polish prisoner Kasimir Knapczyk on February 9, 1941, while he was imprisoned in the Auschwitz concentration camp. In the letter, written on camp stationery, he thanks his family for their letter and asks for more news. Mr. Knapcyzk, who had prisoner number 709, perished in Auschwitz on August 8, 1941.

The letter is written by Major Archibald Edwards Spelman addressed to "Dear Es" describing the Dachau concentration camp.

The Johanna Zwang Neumann letter was written by Johanna Zwang Neumann to her husband and daughters describing life in the Gurs concentration camp, delivering news about family members, and discussing her desires to flee Europe.

Consists of one letter, four pages, written by Lt. Margaret House, a member of the 91st Evacuation Hospital, on April 18, 1945, after witnessing the atrocities at Gardelegen. She compares the idyllic German countryside with the horrors of the things she had witnessed.

Letter, photocopied, addressed to Louis Schubert of Cleveland, OH, from Chaim Schubert of Lwow (postmarked in Komarno, USSR), from early June 1941 (when Soviets still occupied Eastern Poland and Ruthenia, as that would be where Komarno would be). Letter in Yiddish, but not in Hebrew script.

Contains two letters written in 1946 and 1947 by Mihaly Klein, the only member of the Klein family of Kaszony, Hungary (Kosyno, in present-day Ukraine), who survived the deportation in 1944. The addressee of the letters was Mihaly's cousin, Ilon Klein, sister of Herman Klein.

The Albert Cohen letter was written by Albert Cohen, while he was serving in the United States Army in Europe during World War II. The letter and envelope are addressed to Cohen’s mother, Estelle Cohen, in Milwaukee, April 26, 1945. The letter describes Cohen’s experiences at the Buchenwald concentration camp shorty after it was liberated.
