The unit used jeeps, small but sturdy reconnaissance cars developed by the U.S. Army and supplied in large quantities to the Russians under Lend-Lease agreements, to pull its mobile anti-tank guns. Great quantities of American equipment have been supplied to the Russians for use in their fight against the Germans, a fact that Premier Joseph Stalin of Russia acknowledged during his recent conference with President Farnklin D. Roosevelt of the U.S. and British Prime Minister Winston Churchill in Teheran, Iran. The Russian Premier said that without American machines the United Nations could never have won the war.
