U.S. doctors provide medical care for French civilians. In a liberated town in Normandy, Ninth U.S. Air Force doctors have established a service for civilians who have been without medical treatment for more than four years. The occupying German Forces made no effort to treat civilians or even allow French doctors into the area. Captain Charles N. Hoyt of Glenview, Chicago, Illinois, gives a French child a through examination at the civilian dispensary set up by Ninth U.S. Air Force doctors in a French town.
