U.S. doctors provide medical care for French civilians. In a liberated town in Normandy, Ninth U.s. Air Force doctors have established a service for civilians who have been without medical treatment for more than four years. The occupying German Forces made no effort to treat civilians or evenallow French doctors into the area. Captain Charles N. Hoyt of Glenview, Chicago, Illinois, attached to the Ninth U.S. Air Force, greets his civilian patients outside a tent somewhere in France.
