Bremen submarine shipyard bombed. This is the boiler house which supplied the steam power for the Deshimag submarine shpyards in Bremen before Allied planes bombed it March 14, 1945. George Babcock, American civilian technicican on duty with the U.S. Strategic Bomb survey, looks over the wreckage after Bremen was captured by Allied groun forces April 25, 1945. The Deshimag yards were the second largest in Germany and produced one submarine ervery two and a hald weeks. To minimize the effects of Allied bombs, the ships were built on eight sections in various parts of Germany and each section was brought to the yard, where 18,000 workers assembled them.
