In Bucarest, the Commission of the Danube had a general meeting. From left to right: M. Movicow (UdRRS), Saholew (Bulgaria), Pella (Romania), Martus (Italy), Selinzi (Slovakia) und Bauer (Germany). The Danube Commission was started in 1940, consisting of the USSR, Germany, Italy, Rumania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Slovakia and Yugoslavia. A conference on Danube problems was held in Bucharest in 1940 but without results since agreement apparently could not be reached on the control of the mouth of the river.
