Im Kreuzschatten der Mächte : Griechenland 1941-1944 (Okkupation, Resistance, Kollaboration)
Pp. 364-368, "Die 'Entjudung' Griechenlands", describe difficulties met by the German occupying forces in their attempt to incite the Greek population against the Jews. In the Italian zone, no antisemitic laws were enforced. In other parts of Greece, the fascist E.E.E. party (the National Union of Greece) was suppressed by the dictator Ioannis Metaxas. However, after 1942 many Jews were dispatched to forced labor for the Wehrmacht and in March 1943, 46,000 Jews were deported. States that popular antisemitism existed only in Salonika.
