Eine vollkommene Närrin durch meine ewigen Gefühle : aus den Tagebüchern der Lotte Warburg 1925 bis 1947
Excerpts from the diaries of Lotte Warburg, daughter of a converted Jew and sister of Nobel prize winner Otto Warburg. As a half-Jew married to an Aryan, she was not affected by most of the Nazi racial laws; but because of the increasing coldness of her social circle in Bayreuth and her detestation of the Nazis, in 1937 she left with her family for the Netherlands. Her diaries include descriptions of a Nazi assembly in 1931 where she heard Streicher in a diatribe against the Jews; of the dismissal and emigration of Jewish scientists of her acquaintance; of the survival strategy of her brother Otto, who continued as head of a national scientific institute throughout the Nazi period; and of the deportation of the Jews of Amsterdam. Includes index. 456 pages : illustrations ; 21 cm
