Un vivant qui passe : Auschwitz 1943-Theresienstadt 1944
An interview with Maurice Rossel, a delegate of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Germany between 1942-45. The interview was conducted by Lanzmann in 1979, during the preparation of his film "Shoah." Rossel mentions his visit to Auschwitz in 1943, but talks more about his one day visit to Theresienstadt on 23 June 1944. Lanzmann evokes a report written by Rossel after the visit to Theresienstadt, and they discuss the image of the camp as Rossel then saw it and the camp reality which was very different and totally hidden from the eyes of the Red Cross visitor. This interview was screened on the Arte TV station on 12 November 1997. Contains biographical and bibliographical information on Claude Lanzmann (p. 61-63). 61 pages ; 15 cm.
