Describes the "Kristallnacht" pogrom, after which the number of Jewish residents in the region diminished from 63,610 to 27,893, due to emigration. Describes the process of discrimination, isolation, and persecution. Reports on deportations to Łódź, Minsk, and Riga in 1941 and to Theresienstadt and Auschwitz in 1942.
