Judenforschung im Dritten Reich : Wissenschaft zwischen Politik, Propaganda und Ideologie
Examines the scope of research on Jewish history and culture carried out in Nazi Germany during 1933-45, and in Austria after the "Anschluss" (1938). Discusses antisemitic research carried out at the universities, where thousands of antisemitic doctoral theses were written, and describes the pseudo-scientific activities of non-academic institutions, such as the Institut zum Studium der Judenfrage in Berlin, the Institut zur Erforschung der Judenfrage in Frankfurt, and the Reichsinstitut für Geschichte des neuen Deutschlands in Berlin and München. Reflects on the relationship between this "Judenforschung" and politics, i.e. Nazi ideology and propaganda. Pp. 316-356 focus on antisemitic research at the University of Vienna. 1. Aufl. 494 pages ; 23 cm
