Kazerne Dossin Research Centre Contact Kazerne Dossin Research Centre: archives@kazernedossin.eu This collection contains four photos, which portray the following persons: Fajga Moszkowicz, Salomon Herszman, Helene Herszman, Siegfried Herszman and Henriette Herszman. There is also the first Polish passport issued to Helene Herszman in 1948. Fajga Moszkowicz was born on 6 or 18 March 1892, in Tomaszow. She arrived in Belgium in 1931, without profession. She was married on 26 April 1933 to Salomon Herszman who was born on 19 April 1878 in Wielun, Poland. He was a tailor that moved to Belgium in 1920. They lived in St-Josse at Rue des Chanteurs, 57. Together they had two children: Siegfried Herszman, born on 22 February 1932 and Helène Herszman, born on 29 January 1934. On 26 January 1944, Salomon Herszman was declared deceased in Brussels. On 29 February 1944, Fajga Moszkowicz was arrested and registered at the Dossin barracks in Mechelen as No. 379 for Transport XXIV. This transport left Mechelen on 4 April 1944 towards Auschwitz-Birkenau. Fajga Moszkowicz did not survive.
