German Jewish families: various copy papers

Moritz Mecklenburg was born in 1880 in Luebeck and died in March 1945 in Shanghai, where he is buried at the Jewish cemetery. His family had founded a paper factory for the newspaper and writing paper markets in 1870 in Luebeck. Moritz became a metal broker and married Elise Adler, born 1881 in Chemnitz. They emigrated to Shanghai in 1939. Elise managed to gain passage to England in 1947 as a displaced person. It is assumed that the Adler family (1564/2) are related but it is not known how. This collection of copy documentation relates mainly to the Mecklenburg family. Also included are smaller collections from other German Jewish emigre families. Open
