German Jewish youth organisations: various papers
Deutsch- Jüdischer Wanderbund was established in August 1921 by groups of young Jewish nature lovers in various parts of Germany who felt uncomfortable in the Wandervogel movement on account of growing antisemitism. The liberal Jewish membership felt itself to be both German and Jewish and therefore rejected the Zionism and orthodoxy of other Jewish youth movements. The organisation folded in 1932. The papers in this collection relate mainly to the German Jewish youth organisation, deutsch- Jüdischer Wanderbund The papers consist of newsletters (740/1/1-2), which shed some light on the movement's ideological position, and ephemera.

In addition there are papers of two other organisations: Arbeitskreis religiöser Jugend für den Frieden and Jüdische Jugendberatung Hamburg
Open
