Lotte Oppenheim: personal correspondence
<p>This collection consists of the personal correspondence of Lotte Oppenheim regarding the tracing of her mother, Berta Fraustaedter, after the Second World War. Berta Fraustaedter was a Holocaust survivor of Theresienstadt concentration camp.</p>Included are correspondence with the Jewish Refugee Committee, the International Committee of the Red Cross and friends regarding arrangements for her mother to move to the UK. Berta Fraustaedter was born in 1869. According to the correspondence, her children Lotte, Kurt and Hans Fraustaedter had fled Nazi Germany. After the liberation of Terezin concentration camp Berta Fraustaedter moved to a Jewish retirement home in Berlin whilst awaiting approval for her emigration to her children in England. Open
