תיקי SD-Hauptaußenstelle Würzburg, בואריה

SD Hauptaussenstelle (main branch office) Wuerzburg
(until summer 1939 SD subsection Mainfranken, then until autumn 1942 at the latest, SD section Wuerzburg)

The typewritten inventory "SD main branch office Wuerzburg" (5051 sheets) from the years 1939 - 1944 was first acquired in February 1966 in poor condition (leaves severely damaged by fire) by the City Archives Wuerzburg. How it got there is unclear, possibly the police had handed it over. The sheets were restored by lamination and reopened except for a small percentage. The inventory consists mainly of field reports from the branch office to the central office and summarized reports from the central office to higher authorities.
In the period 1940 - 1944, the reports changed in content. From 1940 to the beginning of 1941, they included statements on certain topics at fixed intervals. From 1941, these are opinion reports dealing with the war on the one hand, and the situation on the "home front" on the other. The remainder consists of correspondence (mostly 1940/41), mainly with the Reich Security Main Office and its branch offices, as well as some reports from other sections transmitted from the SD section. The general classification of the inventory was made according to the places which wrote the reports (Würzburg, Schweinfurt, Kitzingen, Lohr, etc.); the subdivision according to subject (law, administration, public health / race, economy, etc.) and chronology.
Among these documents are a number of files that deal with Jewish affairs in the individual places, such as pension issues of the Jews, the allocation of formerly Jewish real estate, and the emigration of Jews.
