Obecný notársky úrad v Kráľovskom Chlmci 1821 - 1944 (1945)

Printed inventory, available in the Researcher's room of the archive. According to the first Vienna Arbitration in November 1938, Kráľovský Chlmec (in Hungarian Királyhelmec) including the southern parts of the historical county of Zemplín was annexed to the Hungarian Kingdom. The Notary Office of Kráľovský Chlmec was responsible for the management of the agenda of Kráľovský Chlmec, where according to the Hungarian census of 1941 886 Israelites lived. They formed 23 % of the population. On April 16, 1944, the local Jewry was concentrated in the ghetto created in the yard of the Kráľovský Chlmec synagogue, then in May 1944 they were deported to the central ghetto in Sátoraljaújhely, later to the death camps of Auschwitz-Birkenau. It is possible to make copies in accordance with the research rules of the archive. The agenda of the Notary Office of Kráľovský Chlmec holds records of the local administration in the period between 1821 and 1944, including the wartime years (1939 - 1944). It contains materials about the situation of the Jewish population, the Anti-Jewish measures, and files on Jewish property, as well as the minutes of the municipality of Kráľovský Chlmec from the years 1939 – 1944. Accessible.
