Henry Lasker papers
Henry Lasker was born in Lithuania on 15 July 1878. He immigrated to the United States in 1886. He became the first Jewish lawyer in Springfield, Mass., and was involved in city politics and Jewish affairs. Lasker died 10 Dec. 1953. Includes various materials concerning Jewish life in Central and Eastern Europe before the Holocaust, the suffering of Jews through history, and atrocities toward Jews in the Soviet Union and Poland. Also included is the November 1928 report of the Constituent Convention of the Federation of American Jews of Lithuanian Descent.
