Anita Sockol collection
The Anita Sockol collection consists of two postcards and an autograph album that belonged to Anita Plachte (later Sockol), from mid-1930s, brought out of Nazi-occupied Europe. Anita Sockol (born Anita Plachte) was born on September 17, 1927 in Berlin, Germany. She is the only child of Ludwig and Margarete Plachte. Her father worked as a manufacturer of women’s clothing. The Plachte family fled to Holland in April 1938, and arrived in the United States on September 18, 1938.
