Belgian arms plant produces for Allies. A Belgian workman checks the pistol bolt recoil in small arms being manufactured at Fabrique Nationale in Herstal Lez Liege, Belgium, one of the largest factories in Belgium for the productions of arms, munitions and vehicles. For four years, the director and the employes refused to work for the Nazis and German machines and technicians had to be brought into the plant. With the liberation of their country, the Belgians have started production on U.S. Government contracts. This photo, taken October 23, 1944, was released by the censors April 10, 1945.
