U.S. doctors provide medical care for French civilians. In a liberated town in Normandy, Ninth U.s. Air Force doctors have established a service for civilians who have been without medical treatment for more than four years. The occupying German Forces made no effort to treat civilians or even allow French doctors into the area. A small patient perched on the knee of Corporal Walter C. Provost of Laconia, Bew Hampshire, smiles happily at First Lieutenant Richard W. Norden of Manhattan, Kansas, after begin examined at the civilian dispensary set up by Ninth U.S. Air Force docters in a French town.
