Since 1850, the municipality had always belonged to the political and judicial district of Mělník. The municipal self-government was established in 1850, being administered by the municipal council and the board, headed by the mayor. From 1864, two compulsory bodies were at the head of the municipality, the municipal committee and municipal board. The executive body was the mayor, who implemented the resolutions of the municipal committee. Since 1919, the bodies of municipalities included the municipal council, the municipal board, the mayor, his deputies, and commissions.
