Its agenda was essentially taken over by the Office for Social Welfare Administration, established on the basis of Act No. 2/1918 Coll. of November 2, 1918, establishing the highest administrative authorities in the Czechoslovak Republic. In November 1938, a large-scale reorganization of central authorities took place, enacted by Government Decree No. 269/1938 Coll. of November 4, 1938. This decree abolished, among other things, the Ministry of Social Welfare and the Ministry of Public Health and Physical Education, and merged their agendas under the Ministry of Social and Health Administration.
