Rabbi Noah Golinkin papers
Rabbi Noah Golinkin (1913-2003) was born in Zhitomir but was raised in Vilnius and immigrated to New York in 1938. He studied at Yeshiva University, graduated from Clark University, and was ordained at Jewish Theological Seminary in New York. During World War II, he participated in activist organizations aimed at raising public awareness about the fate of Jews in Europe. The Rabbi Noah Golinkin papers consist of correspondence, memoranda, and programs documenting the efforts of the Seminary Student Committee to Save European Jewry to work with likeminded organizations such as the Synagogue Council of America to help European Jews during the Holocaust. The papers also include annotations provided by the donor as well as the donor's correspondence with Haskel Lookstein about his book "Were We Our Brothers' Keepers?"
