Aba Sztern was born in 1922 and grew up in Paris, France, with his sister, Catherine. During the German occupation of France, Aba was interned in Beaune-la-Rolande. Subsequently, he was deported on convoy no. 5 to Auschwitz where he perished. Catherine Sztern survived the war and was later married to Willy Fogel, a child survivor of Buchenwald.

The Krakowski family papers consists of one letter (in fragments) from Beaune La Rolande concentration camp, two photographs taken while in hiding on a farm, and six pre-war photographs of the the Krawkowski family.

The collection consists of a handmade greeting card and photographs documenting the experiences of Menachem Mendel Lichtenstein, his wife Shifra, and son, Israel, in France during the Holocaust when Menachem was interned in Beaune-la-Rolande transit camp and Israel lived in the Masgelier's children's home.
